watch: Flash Amazonas, “Panda”

東京を拠点に活動するのニューウェーブ歌謡テクノポップバンド、Crystalで活動する三宅亮太とマドリッドのアーティスト Julián Mayorgaによる音楽プロジェクト Flash Amazonas が秋にニューアルバム『uva-uva』をリリース。その中から呪術的なごった煮ポップ’Panda’がミュージックビデオと共に公開されています。

三宅の脱力ラップと様々なパーカッションが飛び散る怪しいグルーヴが初期のベックを彷彿させるこのチューン。その雰囲気を完璧に映像で表現したこのミュージックビデオは、ファッションアート雑誌Toilet paperやヤン・シュヴァンクマイエルの映像作品のように、居心地の悪さと奇妙なポップさが不思議なバランスで同居した作品になっています。

新作アルバム『uva-uva』は10月21日にリリース。

Flash Amazonas, a project by Ryota Miyake, who plays in the Tokyo-based new wave techno-pop band Crystal, and Madrid-based artist Julián Mayorga, will release their new album "uva-uva" in the fall. From the album, the magical and a bit perverse pop song 'Panda' has been released along with its music video.

Miyake's superbly relaxed rap and the wicked groove created by various percussions scattered around the track, reminding the listeners of Beck's Loser days. The music video perfectly captures that atmosphere in a video. At times it is like looking into Toilet Paper magazine or getting lost in the creepy world Jan Švankmajer films. It isn’t difficult to dive in to the slightly uncomfortable and undeniably addictive world of Panda.

The new album "uva-uva" will be released on October 21.
